Shawarma Vegan sandwich

INGREDIENTS 

2 Gluten free pieces of bread

1 tbsp oil 

1 can jackfruit 

1 tomato 

1/4 cucumber

lettuce

cabbage and pickle onions

 

For marinade

1/3 tomato sauce

1 tbsp tamari or soy sauce

1 tsp paprika

1 tsp paprika

1 tsp cumin

1 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp soaked paprika

A pinch of salt, oregano and thyme

 

For dressing 

1/2 cup almond yogurt or plant based yogurt of choice 

1 tsp garlic powder 

1/2 lemon

salt to taste

 

LET THE FUN BEGIN

Start by rinsing jackfruit with warm water and drain well. After Shred the jackfruit by hand or fork.
Add all the marinade ingredients to a bowl and stir with a Spoon. Add the jackfruit and let it marinate for 15minutes.
Meanwhile, make the yogurt dressing in a small bowl combine the ingredients.
Heat oil in a skillet or use an air fryer and add the marinated jackfruit—Cook for about 10 minutes. If you use an air fryer for cooking @350f for 10 minutes or until golden crisp.
When the jackfruit is ready, start assailing your sandwich with all the veggie of your choice.
